SALARY RANGE:  $43,751.51 - $52,241.59

 

 

 

BARGAINING UNIT: MEA Administrators Unit Level II

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Data Analyst assists in collecting and reporting data necessary for self-assessment, planning, and academic and administrative decision-making. The position is responsible for assisting the Director of Institutional Effectiveness in the preparation of federal, state, and institutional data reports and requirements on behalf of the college. The Data Analyst measures program effectiveness; prepares data for and contributes to preparation of a variety of reports for internal and external partners; completes data accuracy and data integrity projects; develops and conducts survey research in response to institutional needs; provides training and data support to key college leaders; and responds to all ad hoc requests for information. The position performs other research and planning duties as assigned.

 

 

 

 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Associate Degree in Mathematics/Data Analytics/Statistics/Computer Science or related fields
  • Employment eligibilityIn compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics/Data Analytics/Statistics/Computer Science or related fields
  • Certifications: Professional certifications in data analytics or SQL fundamentals demonstrating practical skills and knowledge
  • Experience:
    • Preparing, assessing, and managing data sets for analysis and reporting, preferably in a higher education environment
    • Participation in program assessment, review, and evaluation
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in reporting and data management tools, e.g. SQL
    • Proficiency in spreadsheet software, e.g. Excel
    • Competency in data visualization tools, e.g. Microsoft Report Builder, Power BI
    • Competency in data analysis tools, e.g. Python, R
    • Familiarity with relational database structures, preferably student information systems, e.g. Anthology Student, Jenzabar J1, or Ellucian Banner
    • Participation in data accuracy and data integrity projects
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Ability to communicate findings effectively to non-technical audiences
    • Ability to meet deadlines and work effectively on multiple projects
    • Ability to perform at the highest level of accountability in a complex working environment
