Job Description
The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for promoting and maintaining accuracy in all areas of accounts receivable operations, overseeing and processing incoming payments, and ensuring that revenue is properly secured through the accurate verification and posting of receipts.
Responsibilities
- Create and process customer invoices in accordance with established billing schedules
- Accurately apply customer payments to the correct accounts with a high level of detail
- Generate statements, reminders, and follow-up correspondence to facilitate payments
- Monitor the accounts receivable aging report to proactively identify and address potential concerns
- Manage the collections process, including follow-up calls on delinquent accounts
- Collaborate with Advancement to reconcile fundraising cash deposits
- Oversee scheduling and logistics for student transportation, including daily routes, field trips, and extracurricular activities
- Serve as the primary contact for transportation vendors, parents, and staff, addressing transportation-related needs and concerns
- Act as the billing liaison between Sewickley Academy and the external cafeteria vendor
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 1–3 years of experience in accounts receivable required
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online
- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Experience in customer service and client communication
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
