Position: Set-Up Technician

Summary
We are seeking a professional experienced and skilled 4/5 axis CNC machine Setter to join our precision engineering team. The Set-up Technician, under the direction of the VP Engineering , will primarily be responsible to ensure compliance with company policies and standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and complete and on-time delivery. This position will ensure high standards of workmanship and efficiency. This role will also ensure outputs meet production schedules, safety and quality standards, as well as customer needs.
Job Responsibilities
- Setup and operate 4 and 5 Axis milling machines
 - Setup machine using proper tooling and most efficient techniques
 - Adjust & Modify fixture where needed to ensure proper setup.
 - Prove out of program, make necessary adjustments to tools, offsets, speeds and feeds.
 - Check 1st part and make sure all dimensions are within tolerance.
 - Keep production running by deburring and preparing parts for loading into vise or fixture.
 - Prepare fixture and tools for next job. Plan ahead when special tools and new fixtures are required.
 - Able to use all available measuring tools (Micrometers, vernier, height gauges, bore gauges, etc.
 - Use time while machine is running as efficient as possible, for checking parts, deburring, cleaning of tools, holders, machine from previous setups.
 - Prepare proper loading instructions, tools sheets and train operators on machine prior to signing job into production.
 - Protect self and others by following the company Health & Safety policy and practicing safe work habits.
 
Work Conditions

 - Operation and use of necessary tools, machinery, or equipment
 - Extended periods of standing, and other physically demanding conditions
 - Lifting, moving, or manipulating objects up to 25 kilogram
 
Requirements
- Degree or diploma in a manufacturing-related field; or Certifications or licences appropriate to manufacturing industry preferred
 - Five years of related experience
 - Knowledge of appropriate materials, methods, and tools required in machining Processes
 - Familiar with Fanuc / Yasnac controls
 - Knowledge of setting Okuma MU-4000, Matsuura Mam 72 or Robo Drill D21 would be beneficial.
 - Ability to read and interpret drawings, working with close tolerances
 - Tooling & Fixturing knowledge preferred
 - Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and meet deadlines
 - Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner
 - Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
 - Ability to lift heavy objects, walk, and stand for long periods of time
 - Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands
 - Demonstrated ability to operate material-handling equipment
