The Role
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Industrial Painter/Coater to join our team based in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. The successful candidates will be responsible for surface preparation, application of coatings, and ensuring quality and safety standards are met on industrial coating projects..
Compensation/Benefits

- Local work - home every night (75%)
- Opportunities for out of town work with LOA.(25%)
- Overtime after 8 hours per day
- 10% vacation and stat pay on all regular hours worked

Responsibilities and Duties
- Perform surface preparation including sandblasting, power tool cleaning, and solvent cleaning.
- Mix, prepare, and apply a variety of coatings including but not limited to Epoxies, Urathanes, Hi solids, polysiloxanes, enamels, enriched metallic zinc primers according to manufacturer/client specifications.
- Inspect surfaces and coatings to ensure quality standards are met.
- Operate coating and blasting equipment safely and effectively.
- Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
- Work collaboratively with supervisors and team members to meet project schedules and quality requirements.
- Ability to troubleshoot blast and coating equipment.
Qualifications/Desired Skills
- Journeyman Painter ticket considered an asset.
- Minimum 3 years of industrial painting/coating experience (oil & gas, mining, or heavy industrial preferred).
- NACE, CIP, or SSPC certifications are considered an asset.
- Experience with airless spray, conventional pot, and brush/roller applications.
- Minimum three (3) years experience with Plural component Application of hi-solid coatings (Protol 7200, SSPC 2888. ect.)
- Knowledge of coating systems, surface prep standards, and quality inspection criteria.
- Telehandler/forklift truck experience is considered an asset.
- Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
- Ability to work in physically demanding environments and comply with safety standards.
- Valid CSO or BSO and WHMIS certifications (or ability to obtain prior to start).
- Reliable transportation is required.
- Must be willing to complete a pre-employment drug and alcohol test prior to starting work.
