Responsibilities
Reporting to the Principal of the Tuugaalik High School, the purpose of this position is to maintain a safe, secure, comfortable and sanitary school. By doing this, the custodian helps to create a positive learning environment for students and pleasant working environment for school staff.
The Custodian has the responsibility of maintaining a sanitary and safe environment for the students and staff of the school. In doing so, the custodian plays a significant role in maintaining the operations and functionality of the school and supporting a learning environment that is conducive to student success.
The Custodian will ensure that the building is ready for occupancy each day, ensure the building is secured at the end of each school day, maintain a clean and safe environment on a daily and weekly basis, assist with supply and basic maintenance and operation of the building, ensuring the school is safe and secure. The custodian will also carry out specialized summer cleaning.
