Reporting to the Food Store Manager, responsibilities for this position include the following:

  1. To manage the bakery production department.

  2. To supervise all team members in the Bakery and Deli department(s).

  3. To organize, direct, and co-ordinate the operation of the bakery to achieve budgeted goals.

  4. To plan and schedule bakery production according to needs for adequate sales using proper storage methods for products made in advance and in anticipation of needs for sales.

  5. To schedule team members according to production needs.

  6. To maintain product quality standards. Introduce new items to enhance product selection.

  7. To order all ingredients and supplies according to production requirements. 

  8. To be responsible for merchandising, budgeting, inventories, human resources and customer relations.

  9. To ensure that all inventories of ingredients and supplies are kept under proper storage conditions.

  10. To be responsible for the maintenance of the Co-operative’s equipment and premises.

Qualifications

  • Must have a minimum of 3 years leadership experience.

  • Applicants must possess a minimum of 5 years related experience with Bakery, Meats and Cheese products lines in order to effectively operate in all areas of the department.

  • Must have capability to operate the required equipment for the preparation, merchandising and sale of Bakery and Deli products.
