Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, Integration, our Hamilton Light Rail Transit (LRT) office within Capital Project Group is looking for a Project Manager to join the team.  The Hamilton LRT is a 14km 17 stop project that will transform the City of Hamilton.

The Project Manager will provide a key role within the Hamilton LRT project delivery team by coordination and undertaking of activities related to coordination with stakeholders including supporting the project submittals through review and approvals- this includes supporting the reconciliation of requirements as well as variation and deviations from standards. A key responsibility of this role will be strategic coordination with other internal Metrolinx teams and management of third-party stakeholders.

What will I be doing?
  • Coordinates with internal stakeholders (e.g. municipality, government agencies and property owners) on resolution of design issues, timelines, deliverables, changes and other issues impacting project progress, quality, cost and safety.
  • Performs project management role and responsibilities within a collaborative minded project team on a complex, dynamic and high-risk project.
  • Provides administrative, design, editing, technical, estimating, and priority direction to staff and personnel assigned to individual projects, through all project stages.
  • Works with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality product and service, and oversees the day-to-day delivery of project by being involved in the coordination and administration of project elements.
  • Reviews and evaluates consultant studies, reports, design proposals, specifications, and contract documents, to meet established policies, procedures, and standards
  • Integrate multiple corporate requirements into the project, including technical design, environmental assessment conditions, community, and municipal commitments, design excellence, and property acquisition conditions; analyze potential conflicts, delays or issues resulting from integration of corporate requirements with project plan
  • Support implementation of project management principles including project scope, budget and change orders including negotiating, processing, and analyzing cost and schedule impacts
  • Ensures the project is progressing by completing, assigning, and monitoring day-to-day tasks and providing updates to management. Oversee daily project progress and communicate updates to leadership; prepare status reports; prepare presentations; participate in related meetings to provide status updates and discuss solutions to issues
What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?
