Position and Responsibilities

 

You will provide leadership and direction to a multi-disciplinary team of project managers and construction coordinators in the areas of project planning and execution.  You will also provide oversight to and manage relationships with external consulting and contractor firms working on site.  Your excellent communication and relationship building skills will establish trust and credibility across multiple internal and external stakeholder groups.

 

Responsibilities include:

 

  • Assign, prioritize and monitor work within the projects & construction department to deliver on the capital and expense plan ensuring requirements are met regarding technical content as well as safety, environmental, legal and regulatory standards
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget meeting client expectations
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with all regulatory agency requirements, SHEQ standards, corporate policies and site procedures including responsiveness to audit feedback
  • Manage the Life of Asset (LOA) plan with site stakeholders and help to prioritize projects to ensure overall site initiatives are met for safety, operations, and regulatory requirements
  • Develop and continually improve reliable and effective project processes to deliver projects that meet customer and company needs

 

Education and Qualifications

 

Requirements of the position:

  • 8-12 years of experience (minimum 5 years in a leadership role)
  • Experience in project and contractor management
  • Thorough understanding of project engineering, developing and managing project scope, budget, resources and timelines

Assets:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation
  • Experience gained from within a chemical or petrochemical continuous operation
  • Knowledge of SAP
