This posting is for three unionized contractual appointments. A Teaching Assistant is a Graduate Student employed to assist the Course Supervisor as a Teaching Assistant in a classroom environment. Teaching Assistant Positions are governed by the Collective Agreement between McGill University and the Association of Graduate Students Employed at McGill (AGSEM).

Position Summary:

This requisition is for three positions, at 80 hours each for the term 240 hours total for the semester; in the Department Kinesiology and Physical Education. Course dates are January 5, 2026 to April 14, 2026. Effective dates of appointment are December 29, 2025 to May 1, 2026.

Hourly Rate:

$37.34/hr


Required Duties:

  • Videotape six half-day labs in schools

  • Lead students in lesson planning, reflections of their teaching (approximately 6 hours/week for 6 weeks). 

  • Assist with lectures, in-house labs, and marking of exams, etc.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a graduate (master’s or PhD) student enrolled at McGill University, ideally the Kinesiology and Physical Education program with teacher preparation (teacher certification)

  • Familiarity with course content.

  • English, spoken and written.

  • French, spoken and written, is an asset
