Based in Burnaby, BC, Preciseley Microtechnology Corporation (“PMC” or the “Corporation”) is a leading fabless optical MEMS manufacturer. Founded in 2006, Preciseley supplies a range of MEMS micro-mirror products, including mirror devices used for laser beam steering, switching, and manipulation, with diverse application across optical systems, telecommunications, sensors, and other fields. Such products are expected to play a critical role in the 5G upgrade of telecommunication networks globally, Lidar for autonomous driving, 3D sensing, AR&VR etc.

 

We are now offering co-op opportunity to work on our wafer probing handling system, data mining automation and some MEMS packaging prototyping.  The candidate is required to have basic knowledge on LabVIEW, python, C+, circuit design and optics.  

 

Job Description:

The candidate will work closely with a range of MEMS devices and test systems and will contribute to developing test systems for our electrothermally actuated MEMS device. Strong problem-solving skills are essential. During the interview, candidates will be asked to present and discuss their project development experience.

 

Key Job Functions:

  • MEMS device characterization and failure analysis
  • Conduct gage R&R study of backend engineering processes
  • Assembly and characterization of MEMS device
  • Support the development of wafer and die level testing system for electrothermally actuated MEMS device
  • Support the testing and qualification of the thermal actuating MEMS device driving circuity

 

Required Qualifications

  • GPA over 3.0/4
  • Understanding of electrical circuit and hands-on experience of circuit design and troubleshooting will be an asset
  • Experience in coding using LabView, Python and C+ is a plus
  • Experience with computer vision related coding project is an asset
  • Ability of using general electronic testing equipment, such as DMM, power supply, oscilloscope, etc
  • Applicant with background of microelectronic, engineering physic and computer science will be an asset
  • 8 month or longer co-op session will be preferrable
  • Working on site

 

 

Education Requirement: 3rd or 4th year undergraduate student.
