The Master of Forensic Accounting Program is a 10-course program offered at the graduate level, primarily on a distance education basis, using a problem-based learning model supplemented by web- and email-based sessions. The Program currently has the following Sessional Instructional Assistant (SIA) position available for the Winter term and invites applications from suitably qualified candidates who are not current University of Toronto students. No late applications can be considered.

Course title: IFA1901H- Forensic Accounting Professional & Practice Issues (IFA1901H)

Dates of appointment: March 31 – May 26, 2026
Description of Duties: Marking assignments and the examination in accordance with the marking guide developed in conjunction with the instructor, and in accordance with the grading policies of the University of Toronto; consultation with the Director and Instructor as required.
Est. Total Required Hours: 40 hours total (split between 2 SIAs)
Rate of Pay: $55.44 per hour
Enrolment: 18 students
Description of course: This course will examine and consider the professional and practical issues inherent in an investigative and forensic accounting “practice” in the context of the current business and standard practices environment.
This Practice Issues course expands coverage on many of the topics that were introduced in earlier courses. This course builds on this foundation through a more comprehensive and detailed examination of the main stages of an IFA engagement. These stages, ranging from engagement acceptance to ultimate reporting, and their most significant underlying issues, are explored through class discussion of relevant scenarios and the assigned readings.
Minimum qualifications: Professional Accounting Designation and Investigative & Forensic Accounting Experience preferred.
