Job Summary:
Reporting to the Manager, Enterprise Learning & Development, this position will serve as a subject matter expert to senior leaders in the development, delivery, evaluation and management of training programs and resources in support of enterprise-wide training. They will also support the development and implementation of standards for training across the organization.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Research, source and/or develop enterprise-wide learning initiatives, resources and solutions tailored to WCB specific needs. Ensure learning programs, resources, training delivery and evaluation approaches align with WCB standards, adult learning best practices, strategic goals and competency development needs of staff.
- Support business leaders in conducting training needs assessments including the development of training objectives, curriculum design, determining appropriate delivery methods and assisting with the establishment of KPI’s and evaluation processes for trainers, training participants, training programs and materials.
- Coordinate the review and revision of business area training processes and materials in collaboration with business area subject matter experts, content owners, and/or departmental trainers to ensure they incorporate enterprise-wide training standards and best practices.
- Lead the onboarding, training (i.e. “train-the-trainer”), and routine assessment of new and existing departmental trainers to ensure enterprise-wide training standards and principles are adopted and adhered to. Provide feedback to departmental leaders on trainers for the purpose of professional development and performance management.
- Lead the planning, coordination and facilitation of training sessions and hands-on practice for learners. Source, develop and/or deliver training for specific needs and/or applications as they are identified and/or prioritized by the organization.
- Develop and implement standardized templates for the creation and maintenance of training materials including instructor manuals, user guides, job aides, videos and e-learning modules.
- Work with learning resource content owners to plan, coordinate, and facilitate enterprise-wide learning sessions including post-learning surveys to measure the quality and effectiveness of the training.
Participate in the development and implementation of an enterprise learning framework including the development and implementation of strategies and systems that are aligned with strategic direction and drive effective learning & development in the organization.
Work with business areas to support the design and development of training materials and reference tools as part of the implementation of corporate process standard work and strategic improvements.
- Participate in the development, maintenance and access to centralized learning resource libraries and training materials within the enterprise learning management system (LMS) and other shared file systems.
- Support the research, design, and development of recommendations for the delivery of enterprise-wide and/or department specific training (i.e. job design, organizational structure, etc.).
- Ensure enterprise and business area training milestones and goals are met while adhering to the approved training budget.
Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications:
In addition to the following Behavioural & Technical Qualifications (Competencies) the following Education, Experience, Designations/Licenses are job requirements:
- A degree or diploma with a focus on adult education, instructional design, or a related field
- At least 5 years’ experience in the development and delivery of training services
- Demonstrated experience building and implementing innovative, engaging learning programs, including technical training programs
- Knowledge of adult learning principles and educational technology best practices
- Knowledge of project management principles and processes including change management and continuous process improvement would be considered an asset
- Demonstrated understanding of concepts related to workers’ compensation systems, insurance, and knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations and practices is an asset
Equivalent combinations of education and experience that result in the required level of knowledge, skill and competence, may be considered.
