Position: Senior Network and Voice Administrator

Department: Information Services

Role Level: PG10 ($44.05 - $55.04 per hour) ($85,897 - $107,328 per year)

Status: Permanent Full Time (X2) 

Site: Credit Valley Hospital  ( Required to work minimum 3 days a week on site )

Shift: Day shift (8.00am -4.00pm or 9.00am -5.00pm) (7.5 hours per day plus 0.5 hour lunch break)

Summary:

As an integral member of the Network Services team, the Senior Network Administrator will actively contribute to developing and maintaining the high-level design plans for the enterprise network. This individual will provide technical leadership and consulting across the organization, including strategic planning and project planning. Reporting to the Manager, Network and Telecom, the Senior Network Administrator will gain IT Leadership commitment for all high-level network plans and initiate and participate in projects to evaluate technologies and methods for implementing these plans.

With a focus on maximizing technical investments and optimizing performance, the Senior Network Administrator will actively participate in the development of long-term vision, strategy, and roadmaps for networks, including LANs, WANs, VoIP, VPN and Wireless technologies, based on best practices.

Key Areas of Focus:

The primary accountabilities for the Senior Network Administrator at Trillium HealthPartners are to analyze, plan, design, and implement the organization's Network infrastructure according to best practices, while ensuring high levels of systems availability and stability and providing necessary support and maintenance activities escalated to the department:

  • Actively participate in the design and project implementation of the organizations network technologies for LANs, WANs, DC, Firewall, VPN, and Wireless technologies
  • Provide consulting expertise, direction, and assistance to IS colleagues (Systems Analysts, infrastructure Admins, Database Analysts, Security Analysts), Facilities/Redevelopment colleagues, and 3 party partnerships in support of IT initiatives and enterprise projects.
  • Conduct research on emerging technologies in support of infrastructure development efforts and recommend technologies that will increase cost effectiveness and infrastructure flexibility.
  • Actively monitor the network and proactively take proper actions in preventing boarder impacts and outages.
  • Troubleshoot networking and security issues escalated.
  • Develop, document, communicate, and enforce a network technology standards policy.
  • Generate physical and logical topologies of provided solutions and hospital network

 

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Cisco ENCOR, CCNP, or CCIE certification in correspondent technology is preferred
  • Extensive experience in the following technologies and protocols:
    • Routing and switching
    • Wireless
    • Security
    • Data Center
    • VOIP
    • AAA, RADIUS, TACACS, 802.1X
  • Excellent knowledge and expertise in designing, configuring, and troubleshooting the following products and services:
    • Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE)
    • Cisco Catalyst 9K series
    • Cisco Aggregation Services Routers (ASR)
    • Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers (AireOS and Catalyst 9800)
    • Cisco next generation firewalls: Firepower Threat Defence, ASA and Firewall Management Center (FMC)
    • PaloAlto firewalls
    • Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI)
    • Cisco Catalyst Center (formerly DNAC)
    • Cisco SD-Access
    • Cisco Nexus 9K switches
  • Good knowledge in various WAN circuits available in the region
