Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Create and post journal entries, and analyze bank statements, expenses, collections, and other financial data.
- Maintain accurate bookkeeping records and general ledger entries.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
- Assist with biweekly payroll processing, reconciliations, and related journal entries.
- Prepare and review balance sheet and account reconciliations monthly as part of the close process.
- Maintain and reconcile related party and intercompany transactions.
- Produce detailed monthly financial reports, including Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Reporting Packs.
- Prepare and file sales tax returns (US and Canada) and other compliance documents as required.
- Assist external auditors with requests and ensure audit readiness.
- Perform special projects, ad hoc analyses, and additional duties as required.
Skills & Qualifications
- Accounting designation (completed or near completion) required.
- 3–5 years of accounting experience in a small to mid-sized business or Saas finance environment.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis).
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, reconciliations, and ASPE principles.
- Excellent time management, organization, and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with sound judgment.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative, team-oriented culture.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment with multiple priorities.
