Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Digital Cutting Lead to join our team and oversee the digital cutting and finishing area. In this role you will be responsible for ensuring the cutting operations run smoothly, that jobs are executed accurately, and that the team is motivated and efficient. You’ll serve as the point of contact for the digital cutting area, coordinating workflows, ensuring quality, and helping drive productivity while fostering a positive, “can-do” culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the digital cutting/finishing area: set up, operate and monitor digital cutters, routing, laminating and related finishing equipment.
• Review job tickets, identify cutting specifications, ensure correct materials, settings and quality checks.
• Coordinate with production, print and shipping teams to align on schedules, priorities and job flows.
• Train, coach and support team members in the cutting area; promote safety, cleanliness and process discipline.
• Maintain organization of the cutting station: tools, materials, maintenance schedules, inventory of cutting supplies.
• Monitor and drive productivity metrics, identify bottlenecks, suggest improvements.
• Ensure high quality output: verify cut accuracy, edge quality, proper trimming, clean finishes and adherence to job requirements.
• Maintain and follow safety procedures and equipment maintenance logs.

Requirements

Qualifications

• Prior experience in a digital finishing, cutting, routing or large format print finishing environment (preferably Zund and Kongsberg experience).
• Demonstrated ability to lead or supervise a small team or take initiative to organize workflows.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple jobs and deadlines.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills; ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
• Proactive attitude, solutions-oriented mindset and ability to “get the job done” efficiently and with a positive demeanor.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn/setup finishing equipment.
• Ability to lift and move materials (up to 40-50 lbs), stand for extended periods and work in a production environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or finishing equipment training a plus.
