Summary
Assist all guests in a professional, friendly, and responsive manner when they arrive and depart at the Hackerman-Patz House, a hospital-based family lodging facility. Proficient in using a computer to verify information provided by guests and ensure proper phone etiquette while taking high volume of calls. Ensures that guests are eligible to reserve based on their patient's status. Oversees the appearance of the house to create a relaxing, inviting environment.

Job Duties

  • Assists with all guest reservations, including check-ins and check-outs, creating new reservations, extending stays, collecting payments.

  • Accomplishing daily tasks such as directing housekeeper, making room keys, balancing the cash journal, and securing storage areas.

  • Provides high quality customer service to guests, colleagues, and vendors. Maintains relationships with hospital departments to accommodate patients and support their out-patient needs.

  • Collecting and soliciting donations (both monetary and in-kind) from guests and the community and documenting.

  • Keeps track of supplies and notifies management when inventory is running low.

  • Assists with alerting Engineering to any maintenance issues that arise and performing room checks.


Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED

  • 1 year Customer service/hospitality type industry

  • Must be 18 years or older

  • Ability to learn and use multiple department software and software systems.

  • Strong phone etiquette and computer skills.

  • Displays compassion and empathy

  • Must demonstrate the ability to exercise independent judgment in a variety of staff support.

  • Comfortable handling service recovery with guest needs.

  • Must have excellent organizational skills.

  • Must be able to communicate effectively with all members of the department in a busy environment.

  • Compliant with HIPAA and acts ethically with confidentiality.


Physical Demands
Lift and carry 25 lbs. frequent sitting/standing, frequent keyboard use, *patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
