Trystar’s team members are our most important asset, we are in search of a Maintenance Technician - II for our Faribault, MN facility. This role is critical to achieving our strategic objectives and supporting our mission to deliver unmatched value and reliability to our customers.

Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Technician II will complete preventive maintenance (PM’s), troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild company equipment without direct supervision. They will also document the work being done on equipment.

Job Responsibilities:  

 

  • Performs duties in a safe manner using all approved safety equipment as instructed.
  • Identifies equipment for repairs and upgrades.
  • Able to troubleshoot without direct supervision.
  • Able to contact equipment manufacturer technical service for troubleshooting guidance, as needed.
  • Perform PM’s as required.
  • General fabrication skills including welding (MIG&TIG), plasma cutting, oxygen acetylene torch cutting, and ban saw cutting.
  • Able to apply general mechanical knowledge/abilities in basic electrical blueprints and meters without supervision.
  • Able to read and understand blueprints, mechanical schematics, and diagrams used in diagnosing mechanical problems without direct supervision.
  • Able to disassemble and diagnose mechanical failures and perform the necessary repairs without direct supervision.
  • Able to install machinery and maintain all Trystar equipment.
  • Able to apply general plumbing skills to maintain equipment and facilities (E.g. Installing new water, air and drain lines.  Repairing Sinks, drain lines, toilets, urinals).
  • Able to apply general HVAC skills to maintain equipment and facilities (E.g. Repairing unit heaters, radiant tube heaters, furnaces, air conditioning systems, make up air units, industrial ovens, and exhaust fans).  
  • Assist outside contractors repairing and installing machinery.
  • Knowledge of pneumatics (E.g.  Repair and replace airlines, air fittings, valves, and cylinders. Rebuild cylinders).
  • Knowledge of hydraulics (E.g. Replacing hoses, pumps, valves, pumps, motors).
  • Able to safely operate forklifts, and scissor lifts.
  • Able to apply general mechanical knowledge/abilities in basic electrical blueprints and meters without direct supervision.
  • Maintains an effective working relationship will all employees
  • Maintains a neat and clean working area throughout the day.
  • Inventory and control stock of supplies.
  • Participates in Trystar’s Continuous Improvement efforts by understanding team’s performance and actively identifies and supporting process improvements.

 

Job Requirements: 

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent GED required.
  • Two years of technical training in industrial maintenance or building repair and maintenance and four years of field experience as an Industrial Maintenance Associate. Or eight years of field experience as an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand work instructions (English).
  • Expertise with operating power tools.
  • Must be able to safely perform job responsibilities.
  • Must be flexible in work hours.
  • Must participate in Trystar’s Maintenance on call rotation.
  • Promotes Trystar in a positive manner and observes all policies.
  • Ability to operate lathe and mill desired.
  • Must be able to train on days for approximately 6 months to 1 year.
