$19-$21 per hour to start (plus $2 shift differential)

2nd Shift Monday- Thursday 5:00 PM to 5:30 AM Overtime on Friday and Saturday as needed for production

2nd Shift Small Part Welder Summary:

The Small Part Welder is responsible for welding and fabricating small metal components used in truck and trailer body assemblies. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and adherence to established safety and quality standards. The welder will operate various welding equipment and fixtures to ensure consistent, high-quality welds that meet production goals.

2nd Shift Small Part Welder Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Weld and fabricate small metal parts and assemblies according to blueprints, work orders, or verbal instructions.
  • Operate MIG and TIG welding equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Inspect welds for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with quality standards.
  • Use jigs, fixtures, and measuring tools to ensure part alignment and consistency.
  • Perform basic grinding, cutting, and finishing tasks to prepare or clean welded parts.
  • Maintain welding equipment and perform routine checks to ensure proper operation.
  • Identify and report defective materials, faulty equipment, or unsafe conditions to the Team Leader.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to meet production goals and deadlines.
  • Follow all safety policies and wear required PPE at all times.
  • Assist with setup and organization of work area to support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.

2nd shift Small Parts Welder Required Education, Knowledge & Skills: 

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1–3 years of welding experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment preferred.
  • Completion of a welding certification or technical training program strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of MIG and TIG welding techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols.
  • Familiarity with steel, aluminum, and other common welding materials.
  • Skilled in the use of hand tools, grinders, and measuring instruments.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong work ethic and reliability in attendance and performance.

2nd Shift Small Parts Welder Physical Requirements: 

  • Must be able to communicate clearly
  • Requires ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 20 lbs. 
  • Requires ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, crawl, and kneel 
  • Specific vision ability required includes close, distance, color, and peripheral vision with depth perception and ability to adjust focus.  

Work Environment:

Manufacturing work environment that has frequent exposure to fumes or airborne particles, noise intensity level, proximity to moving mechanical parts and exposure to weather.
