  • Assemble and prepare canister components and mechanical subassemblies per approved engineering drawings, work instructions, and routing documents.
  • Use hand tools and standard shop equipment to complete mechanical assembly operations.
  • Perform in-process inspections and final visual/functional checks against acceptance criteria.
  • Maintain accurate assembly paperwork, electronic records, and lot traceability to support quality and regulatory requirements.
  • Follow established torque and fastening verification procedures as specified in controlled work instructions.
  • Operate within controlled environments (ESD-controlled areas) and maintain cleanliness and contamination-control protocols.
  • Adhere to company safety programs and the use of required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Comply with export control, ITAR, and facility security procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by suggesting process or flow improvements that do not alter approved engineering requirements.
  • Work cooperatively with engineering, quality, supply chain, and production leads to meet schedule and quality targets.

 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certificate or associate degree in manufacturing, aerospace technology, or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years’ hands-on mechanical experience required but preferably in aerospace, defense, or high-reliability manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with standard hand and power tools, fixtures, torque tools, and basic measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers).
  • Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and proven track record of producing work that meets tight quality tolerances.
  • Comfortable working in controlled/cleanroom environments and following contamination-control procedures.
  • Able to pass company background checks.
  • Good communication skills, team orientation, and willingness to follow controlled assembly processes.

 

Physical & Work Environment

  • Regular standing, walking, reaching, bending, and manual handling of parts of varying size (lifting up to 30 lbs.).
  • May require shift work, overtime, and adherence to ESD protocols.
  • Exposure to moderate noise and shop environment typical of aerospace manufacturing.
