Job Title: Swimming Pool Operator
Job Summary: The Swimming Pool Operator is responsible for the professional, efficient, and safe operation and maintenance of the swimming pool, auxiliary equipment, and surrounding areas. This role involves meticulous water chemistry management, regular equipment checks, cleaning, and necessary minor repairs to ensure a clean, safe, and enjoyable environment for all patrons.
Key Responsibilities

Water Maintenance: Fill the pool and conduct regular water tests to ensure proper chlorine levels and overall water quality are maintained according to health standards.

Chemical Management: Regulate chemical feeders and accurately measure and dispense prescribed amounts of soda ash and chlorine (or other necessary chemicals) based on specific guidelines to purify and balance the water. Change chlorine tanks as required.

Equipment Inspection & Repair: Regularly check heating and pumping equipment for functionality; adjust or perform minor repairs using mechanic's hand tools as needed.

Pool Cleaning: Remove leaves and other debris from the water using nets. Clean the bottom and sides of the pool utilizing specialized aids such as underwater vacuum cleaners, hoses, brushes, detergent, acid solution, and sanders.

Tile and Filter Maintenance: Inspect and replace loose or damaged tile. Clean and repair the filter system to ensure optimal performance and water circulation.

Reporting: Report any emergencies or unusual malfunctions immediately to a supervisor. Prepare accurate reports detailing materials used and work performed during shifts.

Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to all local, state, and federal regulations regarding pool operations, chemical storage, and safety procedures.
Qualifications
Required
-
Prior experience in pool maintenance, operations, or a related field.

Current Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or equivalent certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire).

Knowledge of pool chemistry, including testing, balancing, and the safe handling/storage of chemicals.

Ability to use mechanic's hand tools for minor equipment adjustments and repairs.

Must be able to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks.

Physical ability to stand, walk, lift, and carry heavy supplies (up to 50 lbs) and work in various weather conditions.
Preferred
- High School Diploma or equivalent.

Basic knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems related to pool equipment.

Excellent communication and record-keeping skills.
