Job Description

 

Job Title: CO Secretary/Transportation

Reports To: Director of Transportation

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

 

SUMMARY  Performs specialized clerical duties to provide for the effective and efficient management of the transportation department.

 

  • Assists with call to parents, drivers and schools regarding bus times, stop locations, etc.
  • Assists with calls to drivers regarding meetings, reminders, certifications, timesheets, etc.
  • Assists with mail distribution.
  • Works with Shop Foreman to coordinate safety meetings for technicians.
  • Communicates with VDOT regarding obstructions to routes (road improvements, tree trimming, etc.).
  • Manages records for various financial information.
  • Prepares purchase orders, requisition, reimbursements.
  • Coordinates special projects for supervisor.
  • Assist with loading and unloading students from routing system; build spreadsheets for reconciliation between PowerSchool and VersaTrans.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Thorough knowledge of modern office practices and procedures.
  • Thorough knowledge of LCPS policies and procedures.
  • Ability to prepare correspondence, narrative and statistical reports, forms, surveys, etc., using prescribes formats and conforming to all rules of punctuation, grammar, diction, and style.
  • Ability to organize multiple tasks and develop procedures.
  • Ability to use word processing, spreadsheet, and database software.
  • Knowledge of Munis Financial Software preferred.
  • Knowledge of Federal, State and Local procurement procedures preferred.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 

HS Diploma required. Secretarial/clerical and accounting experience preferred.
