Forklift Driver

• Operates forklift to unload incoming vehicles as needed. Counts, verifies and scans all incoming product at delivery time.  Scans items in and out of assigned locations.

• Examines incoming shipments; reports damages and shortages to immediate supervisor.

• Keeps forklift in good, safe operating condition by daily check off of inspection report; reports any maintenance needs to maintenance.

• Tags all sheet stock being returned to board storage area; returns pallets to their designated area; stocked at appropriate height and straight.
• Counts or measures incoming or outgoing items to compare identifying information and variety against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.  Completes corresponding paperwork required documentation.
• Examines incoming shipments; reports damages and shortages to immediate supervisor or Customer Service Representative to rectify.  Completes corresponding paperwork required documentation.
• Determines method of shipment; prepares return materials for shipping and prepares necessary shipping forms such as bills of lading.
• Participates in routing, counting, and inspecting items while loading and unloading trucks; delivers and returns items.
• Utilizes computerized or automated systems to accomplish tasks.
• Ensures work area is clean and organized.
• Conducts training and guides team members in problem solving regarding receiving/stock operational issues.
• Obeys and conforms to all safety rules and regulations.

• Observes and conforms to all company rules and regulations as outlined in the “employee handbook.”

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

Possesses the ability to read, write, speak, and understand English well.  Possesses high school diploma or GED.  Basic computer skills and knowledge of automated/computerized warehouse operations.  Able to drive and maintain forklift and other material handling equipment in tight and congested areas.  Good math skills with emphasis on decimals and fractions.  Able to read/use tape measure and recognize unacceptable palletized loads from banding lines.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Possesses the ability to operate forklift in all weather conditions and situations.  Possesses the ability to withstand dusty and noisy conditions.  Able to lift 50-80 pounds; push/pull 100 pounds; work around chemicals and operate pallet jack, count loads, bundle, and pallet.
