About the Department
The Butte Silver Bow Public Works Department is providing a unique and rewarding seasonal employment opportunity during the winter months. Individuals will assist the Public Works Department in shoveling sidewalks for the Butte Silver Bow snow removal program, cleanup dump outs along the public right of way, and perform other duties as appropriate or necessary for performance of this job.
The work is performed under the general direction and supervision of the Public Works Director and Public Works Project Manager Compliance Specialist. The nature of the work performed requires that an employee in this class establish and maintain close cooperative working relationships with Federal, State, and local officials, supervisor, landowners and the general public.
Position Duties

- Shoveling snow for the Butte Silver Bow Public Works snow removal program.
- Record keeping.
- Clean up dump outs along the public right of way.
- Work with volunteers.
- Perform other duties as appropriate or necessary for performance of the job.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Operate a truck, trailer, ATV, UTV skillfully and safely.
- Communicate effectively.
- Ability to shovel snow off sidewalks at several different locations after a snowstorm.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.

- Must be a resident of Butte-Silver Bow during employment according to Butte-Silver Bow Ordinance. See below:
Essential Physical Abilities:
- Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits the employee to communicate well with Federal, State and local officials, elected officials, supervisors, employees and the general public.
- Sufficient vision, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Sufficient personal mobility, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits the employee to lift up to 50 pounds, enter, operate and exit motor vehicles.
