The Packing Associate 2 (Lead Count Packer) plays a vital role in ensuring that meal orders are packed accurately, efficiently, and according to quality and food safety standards. This position leads a team of packers in the kitchen, coordinating workflow and verifying that all delivery orders are prepared correctly and on schedule.
First shift starts from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Great and comfortable workplace with clean areas, break rooms, free meals, and more.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee daily packing operations to ensure accurate counting, portioning, and packing of meal components for delivery.
- Verify all meal orders against packing lists and ensure order accuracy prior to shipment.
- Coordinate with kitchen and logistics teams to meet production timelines and delivery goals.
- Inspect packaging materials and finished goods for quality, labeling, and compliance with food safety requirements.
- Train and guide packing team members on procedures, productivity expectations, and safety protocols.
- Maintain clean and organized workstations following HACCP and GA Foods’ sanitation standards.
- Monitor workflow and promptly report any discrepancies, shortages, or equipment issues to supervisors.
- Complete packing logs, count sheets, and other required documentation accurately and on time.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional food production or logistics training preferred.
- 1–2 years of experience in food packing, production, or distribution; leadership or team lead experience a plus.
- Familiarity with food safety and sanitation practices in a commercial kitchen or manufacturing environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform accurate counts under time-sensitive conditions.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills; able to motivate and direct a small team.
- Basic computer or data entry skills for recording counts and completing documentation
Physical Demands
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive motions for extended periods.
- Frequent lifting and carrying up to 30–40 pounds; occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Exposure to hot, cold, and refrigerated kitchen environments.
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and handle packaging materials safely.
- Use of required personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, aprons, and hairnets.
