Duties
Establishes and/or maintains privileged healthcare providers' Individual Credentials File (ICF) for appropriate individuals on active duty, employed by or contracted to Jacksonville and its branch clinics.,Establishes and maintains an Individual Professional Files (IPF) for all active duty, civil service or contract non-privileged healthcare providers working at Jacksonville and its branch clinics.,Responsible for the technical management of the credentials review and clinical privileging recommendation process.,Provide daily continuity and uniformity in managing the Navy credentialing and privileging program.,Enters required information concerning package status, education, training, board certifications, licensure, privileging, and supporting comments into the Centralized Credentials Quality Assurance System (CCQAS), and other databases required.,Maintains over 200 Credentialing Transfer Briefs (CTBs) and privileging information on reservist and personnel who are at this command as a temporary assigned duty (TAD).,Coordinates and facilitates the initial evaluation, renewal and modification of clinical privileges for all types of healthcare providers assigned to Jacksonville and its 5 Branch Health Clinics.,Manage privileging requirements for different types of providers including Nurses, Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Allied Health Specialists, and Dentists.,Process files for healthcare providers with over 75 different functional specialties (e.g., Internal Medicine, Urology, Neurology, etc.).,Work with privileging requirements for Navy, Army and Air Force which are all subject to different rules and regulations.,Process files for Telemedicine providers from facilities all over the country.,Review credentialing applications submitted by prospective civilian and contract employees to include verifications of education, training, and licensure, to determine their suitability.,Gathers and verifies information on the professional education and specialized training of all clinical support staff requesting employment at the hospital.,Ensures verification of all background information used in establishing a provider's Bonafide medical and professional expertise prior to employment at facilities.,Prepares monthly reports listing all providers with licenses/certifications, privileges, renewal requirements.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience performing any of the following which includes: Performing a variety of administrative and custodial functions in support of organizing and managing files for a Command level program; Maintaining security, integrity and confidentiality of all data received; Correlating and analyzing data received from outside agencies and other resources; Initiating evaluations, renewals and modification of clinical privileges for all types of healthcare providers and staff; Managing and analyzing applications and supplemental documentation submitted by all healthcare providers to include verification of education, training, and licensure, to determine their suitability; Corresponding and providing guidance to all levels of staff to ensure applications are accurate and complete; Gathering, interpreting and analyzing professional education and specialized training of all healthcare providers and staff requesting employment at a medical facility; interpretation and analysis of regulations and policies. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base (DIB) in Department of Defense (DoD) to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees. Recruitment or relocation incentives MAY be authorized for highly qualified candidates. Multiple positions may be filled from this announcement. Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement.
