Job Summary and Responsibilities:Virginia Mason Medical Center, recognized among the Best Hospitals in Washington state by U.S. News & World Report, is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for our brand-new part-time opening in our Lynnwood Adult Primary Care Clinic. We offer a competitive salary and a supportive work environment. We are looking for RNs to commit to 20-40 hours per week.
Virginia Mason is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Urology Ambulatory Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dedicated team. This position plays a vital role in providing comprehensive, patient-centered care to individuals with various urological conditions.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Patient Triage & Assessment: Accurately assess patient symptoms, vital signs, and medical history to prioritize care and prepare them for provider evaluations.
- Assisting with Procedures: Support urologists during in-office procedures (e.g., cystoscopies, biopsies, catheter insertions/changes) ensuring patient comfort and maintaining sterile technique.
- Patient Education: Provide clear and concise education on urological conditions, treatment plans, medications, pre/post-procedure instructions, and lifestyle modifications.
- Medication Administration: Administer medications as prescribed, including oral, intramuscular, and intravenous routes, and monitor for adverse reactions.
- Electronic Health Record (EHR) Documentation: Accurately and thoroughly document all patient interactions, assessments, interventions, and education in the EHR system.
- Care Coordination: Collaborate with providers, other healthcare professionals, and external agencies to ensure seamless patient care transitions and follow-up.
- Specimen Collection & Handling: Properly collect and label specimens for laboratory analysis.
- Sterilization & Equipment Management: Ensure proper cleaning, sterilization, and maintenance of clinic equipment.
- Responding to Patient Inquiries: Address patient questions and concerns via phone and in-person, escalating to providers as needed.
- Maintaining a Safe Environment: Adhere to all safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and HIPAA regulations.
We require:
- Current Washington State licensure as an RN
- CPR certification is required every two years
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Strong patient assessment skills, ability to work collaboratively in team setting,
- Current working knowledge of electronic medical records.
