What You'll Do:
- Lead a team of engineers and designers in the design and analysis of water, wastewater, and dry utility systems.
- Coordinate with internal teams and office management to allocate resources efficiently across projects.
- Oversee all phases of project delivery to ensure timely, high-quality, and budget-compliant execution.
- Prepare and manage scopes, schedules, budgets, and contractual documents.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, including state and local agencies, and utility owners.
- Organize and lead project meetings and presentations.
- Interface with stakeholders to resolve technical, regulatory, and constructability issues.
- Direct the preparation and review of engineering designs, calculations, cost estimates, specifications, drawings, reports, and technical memoranda.
- Ensure all design efforts comply with client requirements, codes, and applicable standards.
- Conduct technical evaluations and reviews of utility designation and test pit reports.
- Provide construction phase support including submittal reviews, RFIs, change orders, and contract interpretation.
- Perform quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) reviews of project deliverables.
- Mentor and support the professional development of junior engineers and technical staff.
- Manage and coordinate work with internal departments, subconsultants and subcontractors.
- Assist with proposal development, including technical content, fee estimates, and oral presentations.
- Contribute to strategic planning and client relationship development within the Utilities group.
- Participate in business development, client interviews, and project pursuit efforts.
What You'll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in utility design and project management.
- Strong technical knowledge of water, sewer, and dry utility infrastructure design.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating with utility providers, municipalities, and permitting agencies.
- Proficient in preparing design drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
- AutoCAD Civil3D and/or MicroStation OpenRoads experience required.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proven ability to lead teams, mentor staff, and manage client relationships.
