What We Seek...

Britten is looking for a Project Buyer who thrives in a fast-paced, high-energy environment where no two days are ever the same. You’ll play a hands-on role in bringing to life world-class events, experiences, and scenic environments for the biggest brands in the world.


As a Project Buyer, you’ll help turn design concepts into real builds, participating in job handoff meetings, diving into materials, spotting lead time issues early, and working directly with vendors to make the impossible happen on tight timelines. This is a high-impact, fast-moving position where your problem-solving, foresight, and communication directly shape project success.


Job Summary and Job Functions 

  • Join project kickoff and handoff meetings to fully understand job scope, materials, and timelines
  • Anticipate material needs and identify potential lead time or sourcing challenges right away
  • Proactively contact vendors to prepare them for quick-turn or specialty orders
  • Issue and manage purchase orders with accuracy, speed, and attention to detail
  • Solve problems in real time, offering alternative materials or creative solutions before they cause delays
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and production teams to keep jobs moving smoothly
  • Build and maintain relationships with trusted suppliers and fabricators
  • Help improve purchasing systems and processes to make Britten even faster and more efficient

Requirements

  • Experience in purchasing and sourcing within fast-paced, project-driven environments
  • Skilled in creating, tracking, and closing purchase orders across multiple active jobs
  • Strong vendor sourcing, pricing, and relationship management abilities
  • Understanding of materials, hardware, and fabrication workflows
  • Able to read and interpret drawings and bills of materials to plan material needs
  • Clear, organized communicator across vendors, PMs, and production
  • Proactive problem solver who stays ahead of lead-time and supply issues
  • Detail-focused, dependable, and thrives under tight deadlines
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is a plus
  • Collaborative and motivated by delivering world-class projects
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets

  

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Office environment working atmosphere
  • Moving oneself in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments 
  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods  
  • Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another 
  • Communicating with others to exchange information 
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
  • Performing and assessing the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work 
  • Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing
  • Light work that includes moving or adjusting objects up to 20 pounds

  

Compensation and Benefits
