The Burn PI Coordinator collaborates with the Trauma Program Manager and other trauma team members and disciplines to review performance and safety of the Trauma/Burn Programs coordinating activities to evaluate issues, promote loop closure, enhance clinical outcomes utilizing best practices. The PI Coordinator / Trauma Registry will ensure accurate concurrent data abstraction of PI occurrences and opportunities for improvement. He/she will assess and evaluate the nursing care of trauma patients at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children. Perform concurrent and retrospective review of trauma charts for abstraction, Performance Improvement and Quality Assurance. The PI Coordinator will promote the professional development of trauma nursing and is accountable for meeting state and federal regulatory and accrediting standards for performance improvement and patient safety for a Level I Pediatric Trauma Center in accordance with the Pennsylvania Trauma System Foundation (PTSF), American College of Surgeons, and the American Burn Association (ABA). This position reports to the Trauma Program Manager and Trauma Program Director.
