Job Summary: Overall planning and management of the University’s Administrative Information Services area. This position is part of the management team of the campus Information Technology Department. Position is exempt, located at 10 Beech Street, and reports to the Chief Information Officer.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities: The following outlines the essential functions of the position.
- Supervise a staff of 4 professionals in the Administrative Information Services Department
- Supervise and assist with database management of the Ellucian Colleague ERP system and any other administrative database systems, including loading patches, installing releases, integrations, and general database maintenance functions
- Supervise system management for the servers run by the department (application, web, user interface), including normal system management functions of software upgrades, security, and disaster recovery
- Work with other campus departments to make the best use of available campus administrative technology resources
- Manage software and application development including the migration to Colleague SaaS.
- Manage and assist with Colleague and data warehouse reporting
- Manage Softdocs Enterprise Content Management system
- Assist and support users as needed
- Serve as the primary contact between the University and administrative software providers, especially Ellucian
- Evaluate, recommend, and supervise server hardware and software upgrades
- Manage the department’s operating budget, determining needs and approving purchases
- Coordinate the activities of the Administrative Computing department with the other department managers in Information Technology
- Approve requests for data and services
- Coordinate training for Ellucian software
- Member of the Data Governance Team
- Other duties as assigned by the CIO
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
- A minimum of five (5) years successful experience implementing and managing Ellucian Colleague administrative systems
- Successful, in-depth experience with the following: SQL, Colleague Studio software development toolkit, Colleague applications and self-service
- Experience with Ellucian Ethos, SAP Business Objects, and Informer report writer preferred
- Strong interpersonal, communication, planning, organization, and training skills
- Service-oriented
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people at all levels of the campus community
- Relevant management and supervisory experience
Working Conditions and Physical Effort: Work is typically performed in a standard office environment. Must be able to work in an environment where service animals may be present.
