Work Schedule:

Full-time 40 hours per week M-F

The VP, Clinical Lab Operation’s primary responsibilities are to manage the workflow of the laboratory operational division to achieve the goals set forth by the organization's senior management team as it relates to daily operations. Directs and coordinates activities of the technical and clinical support areas of HNL.

This position will have oversight in the Philadelphia region.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Participates in formulating and administering division polices and developing both short- and long-range goals and objectives.
  • Develops operational budgets for the division.
  • Develops and monitors the capital needs of the division.
  • Works closely with the clinical laboratory director to assure the delivery of the highest quality laboratory services.
  • Prepares and analyzes activities, costs and operations of the division and forecasts data to determine division progress toward stated goals and objectives.
  • Confers with other executives and administrative personnel to review achievements and discuss required changes in goals or objectives.
  • Participates in the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of HNL Lab Medicine’s strategic and performance plans, goals and objectives.
  • Ensures that the highest levels of business practices are in place and continuously monitors and upgrades operating systems while acting in full compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Responsible for overall management of the division to achieve exemplary customer satisfaction.
  • Develops plans for new areas of technology for the production functions along with sufficient planning for areas that that support the mission, vision and values of HNL Lab Medicine.
  • Develops innovative initiatives to enhance the growth and efficiency of HNL Lab Medicine’s clinical laboratory operations to support productivity and effectiveness.
  • Identifies training needs, initiates development of subordinates and recommends effective personnel actions in cooperation with Human Resources and Organizational Development.

Education/Experience:

Ph.D. or Master's degree (M. A.) or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software and Spreadsheet software.

Executive Presence:

As a member of the senior executive management team, must exhibit an executive presence earning the respect of colleagues and subordinates alike.
