Instrument Fitter - Texas City bei Burrow Global

Burrow Global, a leader in engineering and construction services, is looking for 1 highly skilled Instrument Fitter for a project in Texas City, TX.   This project will last 4-6 weeks and be working a 5/10 shift schedule. 

Note:  No per diem is available on this assignment. 

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• Reads and works from related blueprints and other schematic drawings
• Installs and/or removes various instrumentation devices
• Comprehensive knowledge of pneumatics, electronics and electricity.
• Cuts, bends, and installs pipe tubing or conduit for the installation of air or process lines for instrument controls using hacksaws and pipe cutters for the proper installation of the instrumentation device
• Installs instruments, instrument stands and control wiring to valves and strokes valves to verify operation
• Installation and calibration of recorders, alarms, switches and other devices
• May steam trace lines when necessary
• May install flanges and orifice plates
• May perform other duties necessary in order to remove, install or troubleshoot instrumentation devices

Required Skills and Knowledge:

• Must be NCCER Certified
• Must be able to pass drug test and background check

Technical Skills:

• Proficient in using hand tools such as wrenches, pliers, pipe cutters, and other precision instruments.
• Strong knowledge of various tubing materials (stainless steel, copper, nylon) and their appropriate joining methods.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
• Understanding of pressure, flow dynamics, and instrumentation system requirements.

Physical Abilities:

• Dexterity to work with small components and in confined spaces.
• Ability to work at heights and in confined areas, such as within plant facilities.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and strong visual acuity for precise measurements and installations.
