WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
**Receive $1 per hour shift differential for working 2nd shift**
The Ink Mixer is responsible for managing the ink system to ensure accurate mix and distribution of inks for printing production. Will use knowledge of colors and will be trained to mix inks using correct formulas and specifications for print production. Will also flex to other areas to support various production processes and operations. Following is a list of some of the job duties required for this position:
- Make ink to specification using appropriate tools and resources.
- Manage ink inventory, storage, and ink distribution for production.
- Assist with finished good preparation and staging.
- Assist with inventory management and coordination/distribution of production supply materials.
- Conduct housekeeping of assigned area each shift.
- Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
- Strives for continuous improvement in all processes (safety, quality, productivity, cost).
- Complies with all company and Food Safety policies and practices as applicable.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.
WHAT WE NEED
- Must be at least 18 years old with HS Diploma or GED
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to differentiate between colors.
- Basic math and measurement skills.
- Display a positive attitude and work well with all levels of personnel, whether individually or in a team environment
- Must be able to effectively manage time by organizing and planning work
- Experience and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Effectively communicate questions, problems, and reports to co-workers, supervisory and management personnel
- Flexibility to accommodate unscheduled changes in duties and work overtime as needed
- Thorough understanding of operations policies and practices
- Good verbal and written communication
- Must be able to differentiate colors
- Previous experience in a fast-paced production/warehouse environment
- Previous forklift experience
- Knowledge and experience with inventory
WORK CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT
- Frequently (more than 75% of the time) required to stand and/or walk, use ladders and climb stairs, bend and stoop, reach, push/pull, kneel, and crouch.
- Lift, carry, and move items up to 50 pounds without assistance; use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls to communicate verbally and hear.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color differentiation, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Frequently exposed to a non-climate-controlled environment.
- Frequently (more than 75% of the time) exposed to adhesive, regular propyl alcohol, and acetate fumes.
- Frequently (over 75% of the time) exposed to machinery and mechanical moving parts. · Ability to work at heights and in inclement weather.
- Personal protective equipment is required, such as safety glasses, hair net, and food safety-related items.
- Must be able to work around chemicals/fumes to include inks and ammonia
