Pay: $1,832.40/week (plus $2,350 completion bonus per contract, up to $7,050 after three contracts)

Job Description

ATC Healthcare is seeking an experienced Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel assignment in Baltimore, Maryland. This position is within a post-operative adult unit that provides telemetry monitoring and cares for a wide range of medical and surgical patients.

The ideal candidate has strong clinical assessment skills, proficiency in telemetry monitoring, and comfort working with diverse adult populations—including patients undergoing gender affirmation surgery. While direct experience with this population is preferred, it is not required. The RN will deliver safe, compassionate, and evidence-based care in a collaborative hospital setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care to adult and geriatric patients on a post-operative medical-surgical telemetry unit.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, identify dysrhythmias, and respond to changes in patient condition appropriately.
• Administer medications, IV fluids, and treatments per provider orders and facility protocols.
• Care for post-operative patients recovering from surgical procedures, including gender affirmation surgeries and general medical conditions.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized plans of care.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using the Cerner EMR system (preferred).
• Float as needed to units of similar or lower acuity.
• Adhere to hospital policies, safety procedures, and infection control standards.
• Work every other weekend and fulfill holiday coverage requirements (2 of 3 winter holidays).
• Provide education and emotional support to patients and families throughout the recovery process.

Qualifications

• Active Maryland RN license or Compact State license (required).
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred).
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Med-Surg/Telemetry experience (required).
• At least one prior travel assignment (required).
• Certifications: BLS and NIHSS (required); ACLS preferred.
• Strong skills in telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and post-operative care.
• Comfortable working with patients recovering from gender affirmation procedures.
• Ability to float to units of equal or lower acuity when needed.
• Excellent clinical judgment, adaptability, and teamwork.
• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and recent tuberculosis test required.
