PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Great problem solving/decision making skills
  • Must comply with all aspects of safety and be extremely safety conscious
  • Must have previous experience maintaining and repairing industrial machinery
  • Must have troubleshooting skills in the following areas: electrical, mechanical, pneumatic controls & hydraulic controls
  • Pipe fitting and installation (air lines, water piping, electrical conduit)
  • Responsible for providing own personal tools (specialty tools provided by plant)
  • Willing to work weekends and odd hours as required
  • Willing to work on other shifts if needed
  • Able to follow a routine schedule of preventative maintenance on machinery
  • Able to read and follow parts/instruction manuals, wiring diagrams, equipment layouts & dimensional drawings
  • Train on boiler operation to serve as backup as needed
  • Operate and safely run any power tool in shop

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Prefer mechanical and electrical knowledge, vocational trade school or work experience in the maintenance field
  • Must be able to work comfortably at heights
  • Ability to read/write/communicate in English
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Self-starter who works effectively without close supervision

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prolonged standing and repetitive motions, bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, and pulling
  • May be required to frequently lift up to 25 lbs
  • Hand dexterity and strength
  • Overtime is required, including weekends sometimes with little or no advance notice
  • May be required to work a flexible schedule
  • It is an essential function of this position that you report to work on a regular basis and have reliable transportation
