About the Role

As a Driver Recruiter, you’ll connect with independent owner-operators, share the benefits of contracting with Mercer, and guide them through the qualification process. You’ll balance high-volume outreach with relationship building—ensuring a great match for both the driver and Mercer while staying compliant with DOT regulations.

This position is on-site Monday - Friday 8am to 5pm.


Key Responsibilities

  • Make high-volume calls to prospective drivers to promote Mercer’s opportunities
  • Pre-screen candidates to confirm qualifications and interest
  • Guide drivers through application and compliance paperwork
  • Conduct recruiting meetings by phone, in-person, or at industry events/trade shows
  • Maintain accurate records in the recruiting database
  • Partner with internal teams at Mercer during the driver's onboarding process
  • Build lasting relationships with drivers to support retention and satisfaction

Who You Are

  • Highly organized and confident in managing multiple leads and tasks daily
  • Skilled at building rapport and maintaining relationships
  • Professional communicator with excellent phone presence
  • Comfortable working in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
  • Proactive and adaptable in handling challenges
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Bonus: Experience in recruiting, call centers, sales, customer service, or trucking industry
