Overview

As a Senior Merchandiser, you’ll play a pivotal role in planning and delivering profitable, customer-focused ranges. You’ll ensure the right stock is in the right place, at the right time, and at the right price — always keeping the customer front of mind.

You’ll also lead, coach, and inspire your team within the Merchandising function, driving commercial success through data-led decisions, collaboration, and strategic planning.

This is a 12-month fixed-term contract.

Location: 4/5 days per week at our North Acton office.

What You Will Do

• Develop and deliver the product planning strategy for your department, aligning with business and margin targets.

• Shape and influence the range framework to deliver a balanced, commercial assortment.

• Analyse sales data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities — using insights to inform range architecture and product phasing.

• Ensure range appeal across all markets through effective attribute and pricing architecture.

• Build and optimise the range size and newness phasing, always “thinking customer first.”

• Lead the financial planning cycle — presenting KPIs, demand phasing, and OTB spend.

• Partner with Buying to plan, review, and sign off on buy quantities, ensuring alignment with ROS, hind-sighting, and production forecasts.

• Lead and present weekly trade meetings, driving agility and action from insights.

• Proactively manage sales, stock, and BTA performance to maximise profitability.

• Oversee WSSI management and monthly reforecasting.

• Drive markdown and terminal stock management strategies, finding the best clearance routes across internal and external channels.

• Deputise for the Merchandise Manager when required.

What We Are Looking For

• Proven experience as an established Merchandiser, ideally within a fast-paced retail or fashion environment.

• A natural leader with experience managing and developing high-performing teams.

• Highly analytical with exceptional attention to detail and advanced Excel skills.

• Strong commercial acumen and a customer-first mindset.

• Confident communicator with the ability to influence and challenge across functions.

• Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment.

• Comfortable making decisions and taking ownership of outcomes.

• Collaborative, adaptable, and approachable — leading by example and supporting others across the wider Merchandising team.

• Experience managing underperformance within a structured performance framework.
