Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Administrator to manage and optimize our IT infrastructure. This role is critical to ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of our systems and networks while supporting business operations and growth.


  

Key Responsibilities

Systems Administration

  • Design, implement, and maintain enterprise-level server infrastructure, including physical and virtual environments
  • Manage Windows Server and Linux systems, ensuring optimal performance, security, and availability
  • Oversee storage solutions utilizing iSCSI, NFS, and SMB
  • Manage backup systems and disaster recovery planning
  • Monitor system performance and capacity, proactively addressing potential issues

Network Administration

  • Configure and manage network infrastructure, including switches, firewalls, and wireless networks 
  • Ensure network security through proper firewall configuration and intrusion detection systems 
  • Implement and maintain remote access across multiple offices utilizing IPSEC VPNs, client VPN, ZTNA, and SD-WAN.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues

Security and Compliance

  • Implement and maintain security policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Manage user access controls, authentication systems, and privileged account management
  • Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards

Technical Support and Documentation

  • Serve as an escalation point for complex technical issues
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for systems and procedures
  • Participate in IT strategic planning and budgeting

Requirements

Education:

Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)


Work Experience:

Required: 6+ years of experience in systems and network administration

  

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware vSphere, Hyper-V)
  • Strong expertise with Windows Server
  • Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and identity management
  • Advanced knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP,)
  • Experience administering firewalls including security policies, IPsec/SSL VPN, IPS/IDS, and web filtering
  • Experience deploying wireless networks
  • Proficiency with Mobile Device Management platforms (Microsoft Intune, Jamf, or similar)
  • Experience administering Microsoft 365 environments including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and Entra ID
  • Experience with ITSM platforms such as Jira Service Management for ticketing, change management, and documentation
  • Proficiency with enterprise backup and disaster recovery solutions (Veeam Backup and Replication)
  • Strong understanding of network security principles and tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Fortinet products including FortiGate firewalls, FortiManager, and FortiClient VPN
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools (Checkmk, Nagios, PRTG, SolarWinds)
  • Experience with Linux administration (Ubuntu)
  • Knowledge of automation and scripting (PowerShell)
  • Relevant certifications such as MCSE, CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent
  • Experience in a senior or lead technical role
