Creative Copywriter (National) – Maternity Cover
Your Role: Creative Copywriter (National)
Based in our Manchester office, you will be working across national agencies and clients, championing the role of audio to drive commercial revenues across our platforms.
As a Creative Copywriter (National) you’ll be responsible for conceiving audio ideas and writing scripts that are well researched, on strategy and on brief.
You will need to deliver against creative, production and revenue targets as agreed by the Group Copy Manager and the Creative Director.
As a Creative Copywriter at Global, you will:
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with National agencies and clients, championing the role of audio to drive commercial revenues across all Global audio platforms.
- Conceive, craft and write commercial audio scripts (both in airtime and Branded Content Partnerships) that are on strategy, on brief, and compliant in accordance with the BCAP / CAP code.
- Rework scripts based on client feedback in a timely manner and manage all necessary admin tasks to ensure your campaigns are ready ahead of deadlines.
- Use your good understanding of the commercial audio and the radio industry to aid your ideas and conversations (both in-person and virtual).
- Work with Sound Engineers / Producers and Project Managers within the team to bring your scripts & ideas to life.
- Deliver against creative, production and revenue targets.
With further opportunities to:
- Pitch to national clients and agencies face-to-face (and virtual)
- Be involved in client/agency Inspiration Sessions to help drive consideration of the medium

In the first few months, you would have:
- Gained an in-depth understanding of the Creative Team’s priorities and ways of working.
- Gained an in-depth understanding of Global’s radio brands and platforms.
- Worked across multiple air-time, digital audio and branded content campaigns.
- Pitched proactive ideas and scripts.
- Identified, and addressed creative obstacles presented by advertisers.
- Collaborated across teams on a creative project.
- Gained a proficient understanding of compliance, CAP, BCAP, Radiocentre regulations and production royalties and licencing fees.
What You’ll Need
The ideal candidate will be proactive and willing to develop and implement innovative solutions, and will possess the following:
- Previous radio/audio creative experience is desirable.
- A good understanding of commercial audio and the radio industry.
- Excellent copywriting skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills..
- Passion, energy, with a strong desire to develop.
- Enthusiastic, motivated, with a desire to ‘make everybody’s day brighter’.
