Job Summary

Overview

Learner Experience – Learning Technology Design govern and support the effective use of Instructure Canvas and Linkedin Learning in the business. This ensures quality, consistency, and alignment with organisational learning goals. Our role includes setting standards, guiding design, and promoting Canvas and Linkedin Learning use within the business. Ready Skills is a mobile learning platform that supports and logs learners skill development. This is a platform in use across our Apprentice and Graduate groups.

Objectives

We’re seeking Learning Services (NIIT) to support across three learning platforms as part of their service offering.

  1. Instructure Canvas - the full build and maintenance of courses in Instructure Canvas, including planning, design, development, testing, launch, and support. The role involves creating a structured course shell utilising DesignPlus (LTI add on), integrating content and assessments, enabling reporting, and managing user enrolment. Technical and design expertise in Canvas, along with responsive support, are essential.
  2. Linkedin Learning - support LinkedIn Learning administration and support for the business including general query, learning pathway creation and campaign assistance.
  3. Ready Skills – creating and maintaining graduate logbook templates, query support and graduate onboarding/offboarding

These resources would be a complement for Learning Services as an offering for project support, while providing BAU administration support for routine activities. Training will be provided by Learner Experience and access provisioned as required.

Canvas

Course Structure: Canvas shell reflects agreed design and learner journey.

Content Integration: All materials (links, files, videos, assessments) are correctly embedded and functional.

Visual Design: Course branding (logo, colour palette, layout) aligns with expectations.

Functionality: Features (e.g. locked sections, discussion boards, reporting tools) operate as intended.

Assessment Strategy: Quizzes and external course links (LIL, LMS) are accessible and trackable.

User Experience: Pilot users report positive navigation and clarity during UAT.

Reporting: Dashboards and tracking tools provide accurate insights.

Launch Readiness: Course is finalised, communicated, and users are successfully enrolled.

Support: Issues are resolved promptly and a clear re-engagement process is in place.

Linkedin Learning

General Queries: Queries are supported in a timely manner

Learning Pathways: Learning pathways are created as per final customer approved design with all content functioning

Reporting: Reports are generated on time each month for reporting cycle

Ready Skills

Support: Queries are supported in a timely manner.

Templates: Templates are created in a timely manner and tested according to design. Templates are maintained and UAT supported

Experience

Planning

  • Review standardised scoping document
  • Participate in stakeholder consultation
  • Define scope, learner journey, key dates, and audience details.
  • Support Learning Owner and SME engagement

Design

  • Create storyboard course structure using existing templates
  • Use approved designs/logo and colour palette.
  • Build course layout (home, landing, resource, module pages).
  • Configure features (discussions, quizzes, content)
  • Confirm assessment strategy and reporting tools.
  • Out of scope/Remain with Learner Experience – Integrations, LTI set up, Credly Badging

Development

  • Build Canvas shell based on final design utilising Design Plus as authoring tool (Canvas LTI)
  • Populate content master (links, files, videos) as received from customer
  • Review and refine course with stakeholder input.
  • Approve page layout and linking cadence.
  • Complete UAT documentation, testing on desktop, tablet, phone
  • Support Learning owner with pilot with diverse users and gather feedback.

 

 

Deployment

  • Finalise course and advise customer
  • Enrol users

Support

  • Provide ongoing support and issue resolution.
  • Make course or content updates as requested
  • Confirm project close-out and issue resolution
