As Packaging Engineerm you will drive, in the heart of our Global PC&L Operations, all activities within the logistics operations domain with special focus on Packaging, Warehousing and Material Flow/Handling optimization activities.

In this key position you will be coordinating with the plant PC&L Managers, as well as the Regional PC&L Directors, all activities within the logistics operations domain and drive robust logistics cost improvement projects across the globe. Optimized Packaging, Warehousing and Material Flow will enable the company to focus investments on growth of the business and enable flow in our operations. The job provides high visibility inside the AS&UX Organization and is reporting to the Global Packaging, Warehouse & Material Flow Leader, who in turn reports to the Global Logistics Manager.

Your role

  • Support Global Packaging Engineering group in regards to people, process, roadmap and financials
  • Design, test and implement outbound packaging for new product launch
  • Ensure following packaging procedures and processes across ASUX
  • Ensure Packaging value and % to sales beating BBP
  • Support profitability improvement initiatives
  • Improve returnable packaging flow management
  • Share best practices across all sites in ASUX
  • Support customer in packaging excellence solutions
  • Define RACI for Packaging Planning (Inbound & Outbound)
  • Released documentation and provide production intent packaging at PV Build in support of Launch   Performance Goals
  • Support on all ASUX RFQs
  • Supporting the yearly Business Plan creation in terms of warehousing costs
  • Driving, together with the site PC&L managers, improved standardized warehouse management and material flow/handling processes
  • Taking responsibility for the proper implementation of cycle count activities and yearly inventory takes
  • Supporting the plants with specific issues in warehouse management and connect to the IT organization in driving improved systems to support best-class warehouse management processes
  • Operate closely with the plants and understand the business and operations environment, in particular the specific warehousing and material flow/handling requirements
  • Participate in advanced material meetings prior to SOP to ensure warehousing/material handling items are covered

Your Background

  • Bachelor of Science in Logistics, Business Management, Systems Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or other relevant area;
  • Extensive knowledge of Supply Chain Processes (with preference for Operations, Manufacturing and Logistics related ones);
  • 5+ years of significant Experience in a Business Process Role related to Supply Chain Operations, Manufacturing and Logistics;
  • Advanced knowledge of SAP and other relevant systems/tools, and relevant experience as a professional user in a challenging environment;
  • Good knowledge of the English language;
  • Analytical mindset, strongly process driven and used to view the performance through “process and people” angle;
  • Good working knowledge of MS office and integration with other systems;
  • Experience in a challenging automotive environment;
  • Skills and/or Experience as a leader & people manager in a global team environment.
