Summary of the role:
Are you passionate about shaping the future of physical and digital product experiences? We are seeking an Associate Design Manager to join our Lisbon-based team, where you will help lead the creation of innovative physical and digital product experiences. In this role, you will guide cross-functional teams throughout the product lifecycle, ensuring the delivery of human-centered, forward-thinking solutions for travel and identity products.
In this role you will be responsible for:
- People management & coaching: set team vision, hiring, growth, and performance; build community of practice
- Research strategy & roadmap: plan discovery programs aligned to product strategy and OKRs
- End‑to‑end research delivery: ensure high‑quality mixed‑methods studies from brief to insight to decision
- Stakeholder partnership: align PM/Design/Eng/Data; communicate insights & influence decisions
- Research Ops & governance: panels, consent/NDAs, repositories, tooling, vendor management & budgeting
About ideal candidate:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in HCI, Cognitive/Experimental Psychology, Human Factors, Design Research, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 7–10+ years in UX Research with proven impact in B2B/B2B2C products.
- 2+ years leading and developing designers and researchers (people management & coaching).
- Experience establishing research strategies, roadmaps and Research Ops (participant sourcing, consent, tooling, repositories).
- Strong product sense and ability to link user insights to business outcomes; experience working in agile at scale (dual‑track discovery/delivery, SAFe/PLC phases).
- Comfortable partnering with PMM, Sales, Customer Success and Legal on sensitive topics (privacy/consent).
- Expert in qual & quant methods (contextual inquiry, interviews, surveys, diary studies, usability/concept testing, card sorting/tree testing, experimentation basics).
- Advanced synthesis/storytelling; influence & facilitation; prioritization and roadmap impact.
- Fluency in English
