Primary Responsibilities

Automation Development & Maintenance

  • Design, develop, and maintain automation scripts and tools to streamline L2 production support tasks.
  • Automate repetitive manual tasks such as log analysis, service restarts, data corrections, and batch job monitoring.
  • Build self-healing mechanisms for common production issues.

Monitoring & Alerting

  • Develop and enhance application health monitoring solutions using tools like Splunk, AppDynamics, Dynatrace, Prometheus, or custom scripts.
  • Implement proactive alerting mechanisms to detect anomalies and performance degradation.
  • Integrate monitoring tools with incident management platforms (e.g., ServiceNow, PagerDuty).

Incident & Problem Management

  • Triage and resolve L2 production incidents, ensuring minimal downtime and impact.
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and contribute to permanent fixes or automation to prevent recurrence.
  • Collaborate with L1, L3, and development teams to escalate and resolve complex issues.

Data Management & Updates

  • Execute controlled data updates and corrections in production environments following change management protocols.
  • Automate data validation and reconciliation processes to ensure data integrity.

CI/CD & DevOps Integration

  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate automation scripts into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Support deployment automation and post-deployment validation tasks.

Documentation & Knowledge Sharing

  • Maintain detailed documentation for all automation scripts, processes, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Train L1/L2 support teams on using automation tools and interpreting monitoring dashboards.

Compliance & Security

  • Ensure all automation and support activities comply with organizational security and audit standards.
  • Implement logging and auditing in automation scripts for traceability.

Continuous Improvement

  • Analyze support trends to identify opportunities for automation and process optimization.
  • Participate in retrospectives and suggest improvements to reduce MTTR (Mean Time to Recovery) and increase system reliability.
