The Lead Registered Behavior Technician (Lead RBT) provides high-quality Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services in a center-based setting under the supervision of a BCBA. Along with working directly with clients, the Lead RBT supports, mentors, and monitors Behavior Technicians to ensure treatment accuracy, smooth daily operations, and a positive environment for both clients and staff.
Responsibilities:Clinical & Client Support
- Implement individualized treatment plans and behavior intervention plans as outlined by the BCBA.
- Collect accurate and timely data on client performance and progress.
- Model best practices and offer in-session coaching to staff.
- Oversee treatment fidelity across all center sessions and report concerns to the supervising BCBA.
- Assist with crisis management and ensure staff follow safety protocols.
- Leadership & Staff Development
- Provide on-the-floor leadership, mentoring, and feedback to RBTs
- Support training and onboarding of new staff members.
- Conduct skill checks and assist with competency assessments under BCBA guidance.
- Foster staff growth by modeling professionalism, teamwork, and clinical excellence.
Center Operations
- Support scheduling, staff assignments, and daily transitions to keep operations smooth.
- Ensure therapy rooms and materials are prepared, organized, and maintained.
- Oversee staff attendance, punctuality, and policy adherence.
- Report operational or staffing issues to the Clinical Director/BCBA promptly.
- Collaboration & Communication
- Act as a liaison between the BCBA and the RBT team, ensuring effective communication.
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.
- Communicate effectively with families as directed by the BCBA or Clinical Director.
- Promote a supportive, team-oriented, and client-focused work environment.
Education:
- Current RBT certification in good standing with the BACB.
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of experience providing ABA services (center-based experience preferred).
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of ABA principles, data collection systems, and behavior management strategies.
- Demonstrated leadership ability or previous experience supervising/mentoring staff.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and effective in fast-paced or high-stress situations
