We are looking for a Groundskeeper to join our team to help support our 232-unit community, Henrico Arms, Richmond, VA. This is a great opportunity to work alongside a supportive team and utilize your building or maintenance skills.

Responsibilities:
Maintain the overall appearance, cleanliness, and safety of the property grounds to meet community standards and compliance requirements for Section 8 and Tax Credit housing.
Perform regular landscaping duties including mowing, trimming, edging, watering, planting, weeding, mulching, and seasonal cleanup to ensure strong curb appeal.
Inspect lawns, walkways, parking lots, and common outdoor spaces daily, reporting any safety hazards, maintenance needs, or code compliance issues to management.
Maintain outdoor lighting, signage, and irrigation systems to ensure proper operation and a safe environment for residents and visitors.
Assist maintenance staff with minor building or exterior repairs when needed, such as painting, trash pickup, or light maintenance tasks.
Keep dumpster areas, storage spaces, and outdoor facilities clean, organized, and free of debris.
Properly handle and store landscaping tools and equipment, ensuring they are in safe and efficient working condition.
Adhere to all property, safety, and fair housing policies while maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor with residents, staff, and vendors.
Support the management team in maintaining the community’s curb appeal standards to ensure compliance with local inspections and agency requirements.
Skills and Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Previous experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or property maintenance—preferably in a Section 8 or Tax Credit apartment community.
Knowledge of landscaping practices, lawn care, and outdoor maintenance tools and equipment.
Ability to safely operate power tools and small machinery (e.g., mowers, trimmers, blowers).
Dependable and self-motivated with strong attention to detail.
Physical ability to perform outdoor work, including lifting, bending, and working in various weather conditions.
Good communication and teamwork skills, with a commitment to maintaining a respectful, community-oriented environment.
Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license may be required.
