Work/Time Requirements:
- Full time
- See shift schedule for actual assigned shift
- Overtime as needed.
- Must be able to work 12 to 14 hours shifts.
- Must be able and willing to work all shifts as needed.
- Must be able to attend meetings as required, possible on off shift.
Education, prior work experience and specialized skills and knowledge:
- Pre-employment physical
- Pass drug screen
- background check clearance
- 1-3 years of change-over experience (preferred)
- Pass basic math and verbal test
- 1-2 years of machine operator experience
- willingness to go to school for furthering education pertaining to job
- GED or equivalent
Job continuation requirements:
- must complete skill level 1 assessment within 60 days
- must complete skill level 2 assessment within 180days
- must be qualified in 360 days
- must follow work rules and policies
- failure to complete the above in the first 90 days may result in immediate termination
- the performance management policy will be followed for failure to comply
Summary of duties and responsibilities:
Perform all tasks involved in the production of Alpha Packaging’s products. Follow Alpha’s standard of Safety, Housekeeping, Quality and Production in an efficient and safe manner as possible. You must be able to work as part of a team. Must be able to Set up and Process SBM and EBM machines.
Essential Job Functions:
- conduct him/herself in a safe manner
- ensure GMP/housekeeping is maintained in assigned area
- Complete and follow work assigned and work instructions to a label required as started on the skill flex.
- ensure that area is safe for daily duties
- perform quality testing as required prior to turning over to production
- ability to operate all equipment on the production floor
- packaging equipment
- blow molders (EBM, SBM) start up, shut down and process
- quality equipment
- ability to fix equipment assigned to
- complete mechanical repairs as found by mechanic
- troubleshoot low level machine issues
- ability to perform preventative maintenance
- ability to perform job changes
- ability to calculate and record daily production, scrap and key issues
- Must be able to communicate to co-workers and leadership chain. This includes shift change to on-coming personnel

- Manufacturing technicians will be evaluated on the following
- Unsafe acts and accidents will directly affect performance review
- Ability to recognize and communicate unsafe situations
- Following safety procedures
- Using the proper personal protective equipment
- Ability to coach and oversee production utilities and packaging technicians with the above functions
- Ability to maintain a clean and functional work area
- Ability to understand and utilize visual work instructions
- Ability to complete and communicate GMP issues and non-compliance
- Understand fit form function of bottle
- Ability to tell the difference between products
- Ability to recognize quality issues with packaging and bottles
- Ability to read and understand all quality documentation
- Ability to complete all quality testing
- Ability to process machines to resolve quality issues
- Ability to complete work tasks assigned
- Ability to complete work tasks at rates assigned
- Ability to communicate issues with production and equipment
- Ability to run and operate production lines assigned
- Ability to complete all end of line paperwork (daily production report, GMP sheets. Line clears, safety inspections, 24 hour log, other paperwork as assigned)
Physical environment/working conditions:
- Stooping/bending - 12 hours and up to 14 hours
- Reaching - 12 hours and up to 14 hours
- Walking -12 hours and up to 14 hours
- Twisting - 12 hours and up to 14 hours
- Lifting 75 lbs.
