Description


Job Purpose:

To coordinate the expediting of material, parts, and assemblies within or between departments of the plant.


Essential Functions:

1. Prepares master work schedules and expedites workflow.

2. Monitors status of work orders using the WIP tracking system and its reports.

3. Balances packaging counts daily and checks reports. 

4. Monitor cycle counts and complete daily audits on the floor.

5. Assists in revising and standardizing procedures to improve department efficiency.

6. Collects data for morning meeting report and prepares production reports.

7. Creates labels and assists in data entry. 

8. Maintains optimum inventory levels, as directed, to ensure on-time delivers to meet customer requirements while helping to minimize carrying costs and premium transportation charges.

9. Assists supervisor and foreman with problems with lot sheets and workflow.

10. Coordinates with the Purchasing Agent and prepares packing slips for items for outside operations.


Additional Responsibilities:

Other duties as assigned.   


Hours: 8:00AM-4:30PM 

Requirements

  

Education/Experience:

1. Minimum of two (2) years of experience in production control systems or equivalent training/education.

Physical:

1. Must be able to stand, walk, sit, and use arms/hands to reach, finger, handle or feel, talk and hear for 8 hours or more per day and includes reading, filing and typing/keyboarding.

2. Must be able to occasionally lift/or move up to 10 pounds.

3. Must have close vision and the ability to adjust focus to work.

4. Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. 

Mental:

1. Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.  

2. Must have the ability to read, comprehend, and interpret written documents. 

3. Must be able to perform mathematical skills such as: addition, subtractions, multiplication, and division, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; and ability to compute discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.

4. Must have ability to deal with problems involving multiple abstract and concrete variables in varying situations. 

5. Requires organizational and quantitative skills.

Technical:

1. Knowledge of office practices, procedures, and department rules.

2. Basic knowledge of office calculators and computer data entry procedures.
