REPORTS TO:
Early Childhood Development Coordinator in consultation with the Head Start Director
QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma
-
Experience in custodial maintenance
-
Ability to lift heavy objects

Ability to follow procedures in food preparation
JOB GOAL:
To assist in implementing the nutritional program and maintaining the cleanliness of the Early Head Start center. In the absence of a Caregiver, the Housekeeper/Meal Preparer/Floating Assistant will work closely with the Lead Caregiver and other Caregivers to ensure a well-balanced program for infants and toddlers.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Housekeeper/Meal Preparer/Floating Assistant will:

Learn, understand, and follow Head Start guidelines and procedures, including Head Start Program Performance Standards, Childcare Regulations, Rutherford County School Board Policies and Procedures, and the Rutherford County Schools Head Start Staff Handbook.

Recognize and reflect the goals and philosophy of Head Start.

Adhere to the Program Standards of Conduct.

Assist the Lead Caregiver, Caregivers, and Health Services Coordinator in carrying out the nutritional program.

Perform daily custodial cleaning, maintenance, and sanitation of center facilities as assigned.

Assist in maintaining adequate food preparation and custodial supplies and equipment.

Keep food preparation and custodial supplies in order and out of the reach of children.

Deliver cafeteria-planned food daily in the proper food-handling compartment.

Assist in serving food to children.

Accurately complete and submit all necessary reports and forms related to nutrition and custodial supplies in a timely manner.

Work effectively and cooperatively with staff, families, and others associated with the Early Head Start program.

Assist in the Caregiver position when assigned and follow all outlined duties in the Caregiver job description.

Attend meetings and training sessions, which may require travel outside the immediate community.

Assist with program recruitment and enrollment efforts.

Perform other duties as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
This is a twelve-month position. Salary and fringe benefits shall be based on the state schedule and established by the Board of Education.
