About The Role:
The Wardrobe Worker carries out the issuance, control, repair and alteration of uniforms and other related duties as assigned.
- Must be available to work Saturday, Sunday, and at least one weekday.
- Must be able to start as early as 4:00am, work evenings and holidays when required
- Schedule: 10:00am – 6:30pm, subject to change based on business needs.
What You Will Do:
- Provides coverage to ensure the Wardrobe operation is properly scheduled and staffed, and inventory controlled, in the absence of the Wardrobe Supervisor
- Monitors the checking out and return of uniforms
- Assists the Wardrobe Supervisor in controlling and tracking uniform inventory
- Works with laundry suppliers to ensure laundry is properly maintained and handled throughout the process
- Sort dirty uniform items
- Receives items pertaining to wardrobe
- Performs fitting, measuring, alterations and repair of uniforms
- Assists the Wardrobe Supervisor in implementing new uniform programs, to include tracking receipt and distribution of new garments and implementation procedures
- Maintains administrative files pertaining to uniformed employee issues and returns
- Uses a computer to maintain a variety of spreadsheets for uniform tracking and inter-office/department communications
- Other duties may be assigned.
What You Will Need:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Experience in hand and machine sewing (machine experience should include straight and zigzag stitch, machine and blind stitch and Over Lock machine).
- Knowledge of the principles of clothing, fitting and alteration. Knowledge of office procedures and inventory control.
- Must be able to work all shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and depth perception.
