Senior Operations Associate - Equity Derivatives Confirmations Specialist

Job Summary

eClerx is seeking a specialist in Equity Derivatives post trade operations (“DPTO”), confirmations drafting, processing incoming, query resolution and end to end support. The successful candidate will take ownership of an offshore Derivative Confirmation team (“DC Service Team”) for Equity Structured Derivates including confirmations processing and training of employees in complex structures, confirmations drafting and incoming review, MCA language, responding to client and business queries, identifying and resolving discrepancies. The candidate will ensure that a structured training program is developed and implemented and that performance and delivery targets for the DC Service Team are tracked and achieved. They will partner with SMEs, team supervisors and colleagues to deliver a stable and skilled offshore DC Service Team within 6 months from inception, following which they supervise the DC Service Team on an on-going basis.

The successful candidate must have extensive experience and technical knowledge of the end to end confirmations drafting and incoming processes for a list of Equity Derivative structures (see below). Prior experience of supervising offshore/remote delivery teams preferred but not essential. 

The role will be based in New York with the expectation of working from the office 2 days per week at a minimum.

  • See table of Equity Derivatives structures in scope for this role
  • Training will be available for transaction types and systems usage
  • Prior knowledge of a majority of these transaction types is expected

Confirmations process servicing and support: 

  • Responding to queries arising from the reconciliation of risk systems to pre-trade and post-trade documentation within a tight T+1 timeframe
  • Supporting the end to end processing of the DC Servicing team and the Confirmation lifecycle generally
  • Drafting and (where applicable) negotiating of Master Confirmation Agreements (“MCA”)
  • Handling non-complex queries relating to the language and provisions used within each confirmation
  • In 4-eye controls, perform the checker role before confirmations are released to clients

 

Eligibility Requirements

  • 7+ year’s total experience in equity derivative confirmations drafting, processing and control
  • 3-5 year’s global or regional leadership of an equity derivative confirmations function preferred
  • Direct experience and understanding of all four Transaction Families defined in the table; and knowledge of at least 8 of the 13 Transaction Types defined in the table
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple stakeholders and locations
  • Demonstrated problem solving and business analysis skills, i.e. the ability to structure an approach to work through and solve complex and ambiguous challenges. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization  

 

In the US, the target base salary for this role is $90,000- $125,000. Compensation is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications, and geography. We expect the majority of candidates who are offered roles at our company to fall throughout the range based on these factors
